Sprite’s Puppies

Sprite, GCH Banner Nevertheless She Persisted HA3, had her first litter on February 16, 2024…4 males and 4 females. Their dad, through the magic of frozen semen and the skill of our great repro vet, Melissa Goodman, DVM, is BobDog, CH Banner Sweet Talkin’ Guy, RA THDX CGC HA3. She’s a terrific mom!!

While it’s hard to tell with the lighter color collars, the males are Blue, Green, Purple and Lime. The females are Yellow, Pink, Peach and Red.

Follow their progress over the coming weeks here!!

weeks 4-5

It has been a VERY busy two weeks!! Puppies got a couple of new environments: a “bedroom” incorporating part of the whelping box and their main living space in our open concept living space. More room to play, eat and learn bathroom manners. And eating they are! Sprite no longer has feeding and cleaning duties and puppies moved from formula to puppy mush…and shined their dish! Grooming is also part of their lives. All in all…we’re ALL busy!

Up and About

Just after turning 2 weeks, eyes opened and they’ve begun to “discover” each other. Keep an eye on Lime…once he’s done peeing, he’s ready to take over!

Week 3

It’s been a big few days…eyes opened just after week 2 and they were up and about. During this week, they got steadier on their feet, exploring the box, toys and each other. Great-greatgrandma Pinch came for her first visit….and needed to be restrained from coming in to help. AND…they started to get tastes of “non-mom food”…lapping a bit of formula from a dish. They’re progressing…but still need lots of rest…and the weeks to come will have more milestones.

Wait….there’s other puppies here???? Discovering each other…

Sprite’s puppies at 2 1/2 weeks.

First week

It’s amazing…a first-time mom and it’s as if she’s been doing it forever. Eyes and ears are still closed…but those noses work and they’re wiggling their way across the carpet to momma for a snack and attention. By the end of the week, they’re trying to get their feet under them but they still have a way to go to be up and walking. It’s amazing…despite the fact they pretty much just sleep, I can sit and look at them for hours.
